Artist Promo Blog: LadyStar Fury of the Venom Legion 2, indiegogo funding project.

Hi my hot cute girly geeks and boy geeks of course. This is a bit different then you are used from me, but it was such a geeky and cool project I had to share it with you!

The press release info:

Palace in the Sky Productions LLC and Heavy Cat Studios announced a brand new crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming full-color fantasy adventure comic title LadyStar: Fury of the Venom Legion Issue #2.

The new campaign is being hosted at and on the project’s official Twitter feed @jessieandteko and #venomlegion

The new comic will be released on the Kindle platform alongside Palace in the Sky’s rapidly growing library of 21 LadyStar™ e-book titles including author W. Scott’s critically-acclaimed LadyStar: The Dreamspeaker and its upcoming sequel LadyStar: The Palace in the Sky.

Palace in the Sky’s e-books are available on all major mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Surface and Kindle.

Among the campaign’s unique rewards on its Indiegogo-hosted site are the opportunity to appear as a character or villain in the new comic, the ability to send LadyStar e-books as gifts to friends and to receive a brand new Kindle Fire HD.

“I’m really excited about our newest comic,” said LadyStar author Scott about the campaign. “The story in Issue Two expands a great deal on important themes like teamwork, friendship and courage. In LadyStar, the girls work together to overcome some pretty fearsome challenges. I think our readers will love the action and I already know they can’t wait to see more of our great artists’ work.”

According to the campaign’s web page, LadyStar: Fury of the Venom Legion #2 continues the storyline from Issue #1. Fury was first launched in 2008 and went on to earn a combined 4.7-star rating and became the #7 ranked Superhero e-book on earlier in 2013.

It also helped launch Palace in the Sky’s webcomic project, which went on to become the largest English-language webcomic association in the world with over 115 titles and 70,000 readers a day.

LadyStar is the story of seven girls who wear magical jewelry pieces that can become powerful weapons. The project has been in continuous development since 2000 and its characters have appeared in games, print, audiocasts, officially licensed merchandise and e-books.

LadyStar’s official web site is

Heavy Cat Studios is an industry-leading independent animation studio with over 50 commercial credits since its founding in 2007 including 33 games, 21 e-book titles and eight audiocasts. Palace in the Sky Productions LLC is the worldwide licensor for Heavy Cat

Studios’ library of over 70 original characters including the LadyStar™ fantasy-adventure book series.

My thoughts and why you should help out by funding this project.

If we talk about geeky and girly this is the perfect project to fund. And even if you have little to spare, just 5 US dollars is enough to help out this project. (But more money is really appreciated) And if you don’t have any money to spare? Tweet about the project; share it on Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, other social media sites you can think of. And don’t worry if you don’t own a kindle, the comic can be read on basically every platform you can think of.

So why is this for hot cute girly geeks like yourself? Well: LadyStar is a fantasy adventure story series about seven girls who wear magical jewelry that can become powerful weapons. Each of the seven main characters is a warrior with unique powers. Their mission is to defend the Realm of Aventar from the evil Cryptics and their minions.

Girls can be heroes, and in the world of LadyStar, they are the heroes. The challenges faced by Jessica and her friends teach the value of teamwork, courage and friendship. Our stories are different from many others in television, books and movies where the teenage girl characters are often sour, hyper-competitive, angry, jealous and self-destructive.

I just love hot girly geek action heroines!

So if you donate, what is gonna happen with your money? The funds will be used to pay for the costs of writing, drawing, coloring and lettering the comic pages themselves, and then assembling the e-book version of the comic for distribution on Kindle devices. Many people will work on the book, and they will share in the proceeds of our campaign.

Some funds will be used to pay for fulfillment of perks for our contributors as well.
